Melanosis belongs to tar melanosis, which is a kind of pigmented lesion caused by light.

Clinical feature

1. Melanosis has the history of coal tar and related derivatives touch or sunshine.
2. Female patients more than male, who have the history of cosmetic touch.
3. The people who are malnutrition and have the chronic disease history are easy to get infected.
4. Brown or blue-gray.
5. It can occur in any part, especially in the exposed parts, such as face, neck, and breast or back of hand etc.

Histopathology

Epidermis basal layer has liquid change, and lymphatic cells make infiltration around dermis vessel.

Method of treatment

1. Get rid of suspected contact substances.
2. 1.5%-4% hydroquinone cream.
3. Q-switched 1064nm or 532nm laser.
